If your Android step counter isn’t working properly, don’t worry! Follow these troubleshooting steps to get it back on track:

🌟 First, update your Macadam app to the latest version, here.

🌟 Install & link Google Fit

  • Ensure Google Fit is installed and has access to your fitness data.

  • Use the same email for both Macadam.app and Google Fit for better syncing.

🌟 Check Macadam.app’s Access to Google Fit

  • Open Google Fit → Tap Browse → Select Activity.

  • Tap the three dots (top right) → Check if Macadam.app is under "Connected apps".

  • Select Macadam.app and ensure it shows "Additional access: speed & distance data."

  • If missing, tap Remove access and reconnect via Macadam.app: Settings > Step Data Source.

🌟 Allow physical activity tracking

  • Go to Phone Settings → Apps > Macadam.app > Permissions > Physical Activity → Set to Allow.

  • In Macadam.app settings, choose Google Fit as the Step Data Source.

🌟 Additional Tips

  • Change the step data source

  • Restart your device and check if steps sync properly.
