Leagues - How does it work?

Compete every week, climb the leagues and win Coins

🚀 Leagues are rolling out progressively. They are switched on automatically, account by account, and will gradually reach every user. They can't be activated on request, even through support, but don't worry: your turn will come! Keep your app up to date so you can enjoy them as soon as they reach you.

Don't see the Rankings tab at the bottom of your screen yet? Check out XP Levels - How does it work?

What are Leagues?

Every week, you compete against about 30 walkers at your level. Walk, earn XP and climb the leaderboard! 📈

🏆 10 leagues to conquer: Stroller › Walker › Strider › Pacer › Runner › Sprinter › Racer › Champion › All-Star › Legend

Where can I find Leagues?

Tap the Rankings tab at the bottom of your screen (it replaces the Social tab). League is the first tab: you'll see your trophy, your rank and the time left in the week. Your friends are still in the Friends tab.

How do I unlock Leagues?

Leagues unlock as you level up with XP. Once you reach the required level, earn 10 XP during the week to join your first League. Until then, tap the Rankings tab to see how to earn more XP. We'll let you know in the app as soon as Leagues are unlocked! 🎉

ℹ️ Already using XP Levels before this new version? Leagues are available right away and you start in the League that matches your previous XP Level. For example, if you were Level 7, you start in the 7th League (Racer).

How do I join the competition each week?

At the start of each week, earn 10 XP to appear on the leaderboard. Tap Earn XP! to see all the ways to get it. As soon as you reach 10 XP, you're in the race!

💡 Tip: validating your steps or completing a daily challenge is usually enough to reach 10 XP!

When does a League week end?

Every League week ends on Sunday at 10:00 UTC, and a new one starts right away. The local time depends on where you are: the countdown on the League screen shows exactly how much time is left. ⏳

How does the leaderboard work?

You are ranked by the XP you have earned since the start of the week. The leaderboard updates regularly throughout the day, not necessarily to the second. Your Macadam friends are never in your group: you'll find them in the Friends tab.

How do I move up a league?

At the end of the week, your final rank decides what happens next:

Your final rank

What happens

🟢 Top of the leaderboard

⬆️ You move up to the next league

⚪ Middle of the leaderboard

➡️ You stay in your league

🔴 Bottom of the leaderboard

⬇️ You move down one league

The leaderboard shows where these zones start, and their size can vary from one League to another. Your result is shown only once: the next time you open the League tab, or with your next action that earns XP.

ℹ️ Good to know: in the first League (Stroller), you can't move down. In the last one (Legend), you can't move up, but the best players are still rewarded!

What can I win?

Finish in the top 3 of your League to win Coins! Tap the 🎁 gift icon next to your trophy to see the rewards of your League this week.

Moving up a League without finishing in the top 3 doesn't earn Coins: that's normal, moving up is already a great win! 💪

💰 Your Coins are added to your balance automatically at the end of the week. Nothing to claim!

What if I don't walk during a week?

If you don't earn any XP during a week, you move down one League (except in the first League, Stroller).

If you are away for 2 weeks or more, you move down one League for each missed week, down to the first League at most. When you come back, Slomo welcomes you and shows your current League. Earn 10 XP and you're back in the race! If you had won Coins in your last week played, they have been added to your balance.

Where can I see my League?

Your League and your rank are also shown on your profile, and on the profiles of other walkers taking part in Leagues.

ℹ️ Good to know: Leagues don't affect your XP Level. Your XP Level never goes down. Learn more about XP Levels
